At Manland, we strive to provide a rich and varied curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils. Our topics are designed to incorporate a range of skills, further the children’s understanding of life in Britain through the ages, as well as, broadening their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Subject by subject information can be accessed via the links on the right hand side of this page. Children are taught the core curriculum subjects of English, Maths and Science in discrete lessons. We follow a skills based curriculum and plan opportunities for cross-curricular learning within this.
As well as stimulating learning experiences being offered in lessons, the children enjoy a wide variety of enrichment activities. For example, children are able to visit museums, geographical features and local places of worship. We also have visitors come in to school and run a variety of workshops throughout the year.
Parents and carers are kept informed of the subject coverage in each class through ‘Meet the Teacher’ mornings early in the school year and termly curriculum planners, which show in detail what will be taught in each subject that term. At the end of each term, subject leaders provide a summary for their subject area which is included in the school newsletter.
If you would like any further information about our curriculum coverage, please refer to the topic and skills overviews on the class pages.
