Book Week

Book Week – Week beginning 1st March 2021

This week, the children have been taking part in various activities to celebrate Book Week. Our ‘Animal’ theme proved popular, and each year group focused on a different animal story or poem, completing lots of lovely activities around their story. We wrote poems, shared our favourite books and created some beautiful artwork. Can you spot a few examples below, including ‘The Crow’s Tale’, ‘The Koala who Could’ and some scary poems involving animals?

On Thursday, the children and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters. It was great to see both the children in class and those working remotely dress up and enjoy the zoom sessions. We launched our book competition, where children were challenged to recreate one of their favourite books front cover or a favourite page, and as usual Manland children did not disappoint! We had such wonderful entries, and it was difficult to choose two winners. A huge well done to Charlie in Year 2 and Miles in Year 6, for the winning photos. They each received a book shop gift card to spend on a book of their choice.

We hope you enjoyed the Book Week. Keep reading, sharing stories and talking about books!
